Community Lunch
During the season of Lent (18 February - 2 April) our usual Community Lunch will be replaced by a Lent Lunch.
Our usual Community Lunch guests are invited to join us upstairs in the Capper Room for this meal, which will consist of a bowl of soup, a bread roll, a piece of cheese and a piece of fruit.
This plain meal is a church tradition which encourages us to remember Jesus’ wilderness fast, with money saved from not eating a larger meal donated to charity. Any money raised from our Lent Lunches will go towards Christian Aid. As with the Community Lunch, donations are optional, and no one should feel any pressure to give if they are not able. We look forward to welcoming you.
Holy Trinity’s Community Lunch is a welcoming and warm gathering held every Saturday between 12 noon and 2pm, and open to anyone in the neighbourhood who would like to join.
There is a choice of sandwiches with white or brown bread, plus a selection of cakes and tea and coffee to enjoy after your meal.
Some people come with friends but many come by themselves and are pleased to make new friends when they do.
The lunch is an great opportunity to enjoy a friendly chat in a relaxed atmosphere in the entrance to our beautiful church. There is no charge.
We aim to hold the lunch every Saturday but on the rare occasion this is not possible we will update this on the church calendar, so please check the homepage for the most up-to-date information.
