A look back at Holy Week and Easter

This year’s Holy Week and Easter celebrations at Holy Trinity were a real joy to share as a church family.

Our flower‑arranging team brought the church to life with displays throughout the building - including around the font, lectern and sanctuary - and the beautiful Easter garden in front of the Jesus Chapel offered a quiet place to reflect on Christ’s resurrection. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who put in so much time and care.

Holy Week began with our Palm Sunday procession, and we kept Mass each day through the week, along with our Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services. At the Easter Vigil, the Paschal candle was lit by fire outside after a determined effort against the wind (!) and we shared a service of candlelight inside the church as we lit our own candles from it. Easter Day was celebrated with a full church and a concelebrated Mass with all four of our clergy.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped in any way - serving, arranging flowers, reading, cleaning, welcoming, or simply being part of the worshipping community.

If you’re thinking of visiting Holy Trinity, you are so welcome! Whether you’re exploring faith, returning after some time away, or looking for a friendly place to worship, there’s space for you here. We have Parish Mass every Sunday at 11am followed by tea and coffee, and Evening Prayer at 6pm followed by a drink and chat. Our Community Lunch runs every Saturday at 12 noon. You’re also warmly invited to our upcoming special events: Choral Evensong on Trinity Sunday (31 May, 6pm), our Summer Fete on Saturday 1 June, and ‘Pimms and Hymns’ on Sunday 26 July. You can find the full calendar on the homepage. We look forward to meeting you!
