Biography
At Oxford, Anthony studied with Dr Bernard Rose. An F.R.C.O., he was appointed Sub-Organist of Llandaff Cathedral and Director of Music in the Cathedral School. Later he became Organist and Choirmaster of Romsey Abbey, where he revitalised the choir.
He returned to teaching as Director of Music at Norman Court School. Foreign tours with his Choristers included recitals in Notre-Dame, Paris, and singing Sunday Mass in St Mark's, Venice. Anthony must be one of the few organists to have played the ‘cello in Chartres Cathedral: the senior choristers also used to play their instruments and on that day the cellist had fallen ill!
Since retiring from full-time Teaching. Anthony has specialised in organ playing. This has included Advanced Studies with Jacques van Oortmerssen in Amsterdam, Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin in Paris and Daniel Moult in London, which has led to an increasingly busy programme of recitals, including regular tours of Germany and France.
