Organ Recital: Gabrielle Lewis

We are thrilled to welcome back Gabrielle Lewis on Monday 16th June at 1pm. Gabrielle joins us from St Andrew's Church, Calstock, Cornwall; she last played at Holy Trinity in May 2024. Gabrielle is bringing us a delightful music programme with something for all to enjoy. Bring your lunch, sit back and listen to beautiful music in a heavenly building… the best start to your week. Biography

Gabrielle Lewis grew up in Herefordshire, Teesside and Shropshire, then read music at Reading University, graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1986.

Since then she has trained and worked as a teacher of music, at Devonport High School for Girls in Plymouth, then privately in addition to other work. She studied the piano from an early age and the organ from teenage years, having lessons with Paul Derrett, John Longstaff, Kevin Bowyer and Graham Williams and gaining the ALCM, LRSM and ARCO diplomas. At present she is organist in the parish of Calstock and tutors organ, piano, singing and flute. Previously she has been Director of Music at the Church of the Ascension, Crownhill, Plymouth and since living in Cornwall from 1986, has had opportunities to perform, including organ recitals locally and around the country, choir accompaniment and orchestral/continuo playing.
