A wonderful Christmas at Holy Trinity

What a wonderful Christmas we had at Holy Trinity. It was a delight to welcome so many news faces from near and far to our Advent and Christmas services. Be it the Cadet Corps Carol Service, the schools Christmas singalong, the Mulled Wine and Mince Pies Carol Service, Midnight Mass or Christmas Morning Mass - it was fabulous to prepare for, and celebrate, Christ’s coming together in worship and fellowship.

For those of you who may have come to Holy Trinity for the first time over the Christmas season - you are so very welcome! We hope you might consider joining us again in 2026. We meet every week on different days - there is our weekly Parish Mass on Sunday mornings at 11am and also a mid-week Mass on Thursdays at 10am. If daytimes don’t work so well for you, we also have a half-an-hour evening service on a Sunday at 6pm (followed by a drink at the pub for anyone who fancies it!).

Socially, we’re a friendly bunch! There is a regular roster of social events organised by and for the congregation, and we have regular community events including: our weekly free Community Lunch on a Saturday from 12 noon to 2pm, Craft Group on Wednesdays from 10am to 12 noon and a monthly Chit Chat group for all local residents on the last Thursday of the month from 10am to 12 noon.

There’s also a Bible Study Group that meets at the church on Monday at 12 noon, and Pub Church, at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month, for anyone wishing to chat about matters of faith in a more informal setting, over a pint at The Castle Tavern.

If you’re looking to give something back to your community, there’s plenty of volunteering opportunities available at church too, from serving on a Sunday morning coffee rota, helping out at the Community Lunch, or running a stall at a fair.

If Anglo-Catholicism is all a bit new to you and you’d like to know more - please do get in touch via the contact form on the website, by emailing our priest, Fr Godfrey at godfrey@havenchurch.uk, or by exploring the Our Faith section of our website which tries to answer some of the questions you might have, or come along to one of our services and we’d love to have a chat with you.

Whatever you come to, you can be assured of a warm welcome.

In the meantime, we wish you and all those you a love a very happy and healthy new year.
